Our client, a growing financial services organisation based in Guernsey, is looking for a talented Software Developer to join their development team on an initial 1-year contract basis.

The Role

As a Software Developer, you will help build, maintain, and improve our client's core systems. Working closely with the development team, you will create reliable, maintainable, and easy-to-use applications that support business operations and meet industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Software development: help design, develop, test, and maintain internal applications. Write clean, well-structured code and ensure systems run smoothly. You will also help fix bugs, improve existing features, and keep documentation up to date.
Data warehouse development: support the development of the company's data warehouse by building ELT processes that move data from internal systems into the warehouse, and help create data models used for reporting and analysis.
Learning and development: keep improving your technical skills and stay up to date with the latest technologies to help strengthen the team's knowledge.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who works well in a team and is comfortable in a busy environment. The ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions — including when working with non-technical users — is essential.

Strong knowledge of T-SQL / Microsoft SQL Server
3+ years experience developing with C# and .NET
Excellent data analysis skills
Experience with software development and software release management methodologies, including a good understanding of branching strategies
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM will be beneficial
An interest in or willingness to learn about stockbroking, investment management, and financial services
Willingness to travel, as this role may involve travel to other offices
